This
is a brief description of some of Troop 101's favorite activities.
Backpacking
- Bear Lake This
is a short high Sierra backpacking to Bear Lake to help prepare
for the longer trip in August.
Back Packing - Emigrant Wilderness A
three night backpack in the Emigrant Wilderness area.
Cache
Creek Rafting A
self guided raft trip in two man rafts down the Cache Creek outside
of Woodland off Highway 505. We will probably have a campout following
the river ride. Also for those who have their Canoeing merit badge
we may have the opportunity to work on the White Water Rafting merit
badge.
Camporee A
fun competitive weekend at Cutter Scout Reservation. There will
be competition in a number of scout related events. We usually arrive
on Friday afternoon and return home early Sunday.
Canoe A
leeisurely paddle down the Russian river mixed in with a few rapids,
water fights and capsizings..
Flag
Decoration
We show our respect for
America's heros by placeing flags on graves at the Golden Gate National
Cemetery.
Klondike
Derby Snow
camping and fun winter competition in the Sierras.
Merit
Badge Midway
A chance to earn
a number of merit badges including many required for eagle. Watch
for announcements and sign-up as soon as you can because space can
be limited. This activity usually happens in January.
Point
Reyes Backpacking Trip A short backpacking trip to Wildcat
camp at Point Reyes. Here is the official description from the

Wildcat
- Open flat near stream; near Alamere falls; primarily group camping.
2 sites for 1-8 people, 3 sites for 1-4 people, 3 group sites
for 9-25 people (group sites split into smaller ones when not
in use by groups). 5.5 miles from Palomarin, 6.5 miles from Five
Brooks and Bear Valley trailheads. Bike access from Five Brooks
on Stewart Trail, 6.5 miles - strenuous.

Lake (Venture Crew) Houseboating,
skiing and tubing at Shasta Lake
Ski
Trip - Dodge Ridge Our
annual ski/snow board trip to Dodge Ridge ski area. This year we
will be staying in a cabin near Pine Crest only a few minutes from
the ski slopes. Plan to leave Friday evening at a time to be announced
at a January meeting.
Summer
Camp at Camp Wente We
usually leave early Sunday and return late afternoon on the following
Saturday.
Sweetwood
A campout where
we often have have WEBELOS from local Cub Scout Packs come with
us to see what our troop is like.
Troop
Family Dinner OLA A
troop potluck dinner at OLA to give everyone a chance to get together.
WEBELOS
Night
This a night where WEBELOS
can come visit local Boy Scout troops to see which one they might
like to join. Troop 101 will build a monkey bridge.
WEBELOS Night
is at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Burlingame. The church is
at the corner of El Camino and Chapin
